Cat Lovers
Rescue and Support:
Our group rescues cats with the intent of finding them a new home!
Typically, the process involves setting a cat trap and waiting for them to be caught, a volunteer then immediately transports the cat to a veterinarian clinic to be examined, sterilized and vaccinated,
We usually have participating vet clinics that help out with the cost by offering better prices for our rescued cats.
Upon departure, the cats are routinely brought to one of our volunteer foster homes, where we purchase food, litter and cages for them to maintain and socialize the cat until it is ready to go to adoptions days at our group of participating pet food stores.
In the event that the rescued cat is feral (cannot be tamed) we release them back outside in a supported environment!
This TNR policy implemented with feral cats – Trap, Neuter, and Release, allows the feral cat back into its outdoor environment with the ongoing support of food and shelter. The sterilization of just one cat will result in avoiding many unwanted future cats.
We often receive calls from cat owners that for many reasons, do not want their cats and indicating that they will have them euthanized if were not available to take them.
Being a no kill shelter we never say no! These cat are typical healthy and friendly and can go directly to our adoption days.
Cat Lovers Rescue also rescues dogs when they are abandoned or abused by their owners, but our main focus is rescuing and reducing the significant overpopulation of cats.
